Reader 21.9.0.,19548 for Android --

How do I set Reader to open with a designated directory?  The only options I see are "recent" and "starred".

- OR - set it to open to 'files on this device'?

- OR - star a large number of files without doing it one-by-one?

I want to end up with a particular list of files in alpha order.  This shouldn't be hard.

Problem solved!

Reader wanted an escalated level of permissions on my Android tablet, so I uninstalled it.

Google Drive has a PDF viewer which does all I need, and I can organize my documents however I want.

Thanks for your time,

John Kwasnik

Hi @John Kwasnik

Hope you are doing well,

You can use our "Starred" option to get the customised list of documents in home page. By default you can do it one by one for now.

  1. Tap profileicon > Preferences.
  2. In the Starred File Location box, tap the visible option. Choose one of the options from the dialog:

Document Cloud: Automatically syncs starred files to the cloud.
This device only: Stars the file on your device.

3. Ask every time: It prompts you to decide where to star the file each time to star a file. If you tap Remember this choice, you device setting changes for all files you star in the future.
4. Tap OK.

For more details refer to: https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobat/android/en/settings.html?highlight=star#starred-file-locat...

For bulk selection of starred files please fill the feature form for us: https://www.adobe.com/products/wishform.html

Let us know how it works at your end. If you have any further queries please feel free to reach us.

Regards

Ria

Thanks, Ria.  To sum up, there is no way to do what I want to do currently.  So you suggested doing a feature request.  Well, if we are going there, I may as well ask for what I wanted in the first place, rather than a non-existent work-around:

Open to a designated directory with the usual sort options:  alpha, date, etc.
