Can you amend a template document in your library (pdf) and extract previous form fields so you don't have to start from scratch?

I have just uploaded a pdf template to my library and spent a lot of time completing form fields. However, after completing realising I made a spelling error on the original pdf template uplaoded. Is there any quick way of uploading the document again and copying over the form fields from the older document so that I don't have to start from scratch?  If anyone is able to advise that would be much appreciated.

Only if you checked create form field layer option when creating the library document. (Option only available in the higher end accounts so you may not have it)

If you have Adobe Acrobat you can add agreement fields to the pdf outside of eSign services.

Or if using word documents it's possible to add agreement fields using text tags.

With those you can change whatever to the document and upload the new copy and as the fields are already there, no need to copy or redo them.
