How To Save Fields As A Template For New Documents?

For my clients, each project agreement document obviously is different, though the bottom of each document where the signature fields go is exactly the same. Rather than having to tediously create and configure new fields each time I want to send a contract for signing, is there a way to simply save all fields that can be placed over a new document?

I would think this would be an obvious feature, but of course with Adobe, things have to sometimes be unnecessarily confusing. I am able to save the fields as a "template", but it doesn't 'seem to allow me to change the background document. Am I missing something here? Can anyone chime in? Thanks.

Hi needforname ,

I would like to mention that background can't be changed once the document is updated in Adobe Sign. You can only edit the fields.

Please refer to this kb doc : Use a Form Field Template

Thank You,

Thanks for the reply and suggestion, though the instructions you provided are apparently outdated and non relevant. There is no "switch to Authoring V2" option. After a day of pulling my hair out, I finally found out how to do this though. If anyone else would like to know... you'll see a drop-down icon on the left side of the page where you enter in fields, etc. For whatever reason, they have "templates" under the "alignments" tab. Why, I have no idea. But once you do that, you'll be able to import saved fields.

So I guess this  "switch to Authoring V2" option is gone now?  I can't find it.
