repeated initials field (not required) via text tags

hello folks

first, thank you again to Scott Carter who answered my initial question re. how to implement initial fields without having the signer need to click on each.

follow-up question:

my goal is this: adding an initial-field via ‘text tags’ that is a) not required and b) repeated on every page.

according to the guide of text tags, my current paper to sign looks like this (ie, my word doc):

…if I upload this to adobe sign, it gets recognized correctly:

page 1:

page 2:

…same on following pages 3, 4 etc.

so, this appears correct as far as I can see, so I go ahead and send the document.

the signer then signs the document. he’s asked to sign the initials, then the signature field on page one; then the document is completed.

HOWEVER, the resulting file after this procedure looks like this:

page 1:

page 2, 3 etc however stay empty:

…so the question is: why does the signed, repeated initial fields not appear on page 2, 3 etc?

any help is highly appreciated - thank you in advance!

Hello!

You are successfully placing the fields, but the recipient must click them to populate them with content.

If the recipient does not click the field, no content is inserted into the field, and the empty field is not further displayed.

For the initials to appear, the recipient must click the field.

Auto-population of field content without interaction by the recipient is called "field pollination", and takes place if you have identical (cloned) fields, but will not work for signature and initial fields.  Signatures and initials need to have a willingness to agree, and that demands some kind of overt action (clicking into the field).

Field pollination with an inline image (for example) would allow the recipient to upload that one image, and that content is automatically populated into all of the clone fields.

Using an inline image to upload initials and have them populate out to all fields is not the same as having discrete initial actions on each page.
