Safe zone suddenly disappeared!

Community Beginner ,
Jan 09, 2026 Jan 09, 2026

My UI updated as I was working on something — now my safe zones have disappeared. I checked under file, where I can find ruler and guides, but no safe zone.

I cleared my cache

My artwork is sized under the social media templates but it's just not there. I really need it so I can continue with my work!

Thanks, I have been using safe zones successfully for a while now, so know how to set them up and that I need to use them with social templates. They are missing specifically on the Instagram ad templates. I seem to be able to use them on the story templates.

Hi @Hazel Cihan, thanks for responding! As mentioned here, specific formats are supported that enable the safe zone feature.

This depends on the format you’re working with. For some formats, safe zones are applicable to help ensure important content stays visible, while bleeds and margins are not used. For other formats, bleeds and margins apply instead, and safe zones won’t be relevant.

The available options will automatically adjust based on the selected format, so you’ll only see the settings that are supported for that design.

Hope this helps!

Best!

I know specific formats support the safe zone. I'm reporting a bug. I am using an Instagram ad template where safe zones should be supported. It is not showing up in the file menu. I am only seeing rulers and guides. As I said before, it's working for story templates but not Instagram ad templates.

Hi @Hazel Cihan, can you please confirm if you resized the design or opened/added a new page that is a non-digital format (e.g., an A4 or other physical format)?

As I keep saying... I have opened a new design in the social media format of Instagram ad and carousel, neither are showing safe zones. It also doesn't work if you resize the artwork. The reels and stories templats are working and show safe zones.

LATEST

In the Files Menu is where Safe Zones should exist as a toggle option.  However this option does not appear.

Exception, this option only appears when the following steps are taken:

  1. the document has been resized to a social media size,
  2. the document is reloaded/refreshed

At all other times, Safe Zones does not appear--even if the user has previously resized the document to a social media size, and been able to use Safe Zones following the above steps, it is necessary to do this all over again when returning to the document from another page.

Web app, using chrome, windows 11

We should not have to refresh/reload or erase cookies/temp files to make this work every single time; the fact that we need to do this is indicative of the fact your web app is malfunctioning--not that a user error has occurred.
