HI - I have a scanned document from someone that I am trying to identify WHAT APPLICATION provides this font?
It shows up fine in adobe but is listed as:
*Times New Roman-Bold-4016
exactly like above as the font type but adobe pro does not have that listed.
I have checked WORD, PAINT, PHOTOSHOP and adobe AND CANNOT FIND what type of application has that specific font as an option. Help 🙂
I hope this message finds you well.
This asterisk indicates that the font currently being displayed is a substitution for the original font that was used. In other words, the document is showing a different font because the original one is either missing or not available in your system.
Hope this information will help

HI! Thank you! Makes TOTAL SENSE! 🙂
Here I was looking on the web for that font when that is not the original font on the document itself. THIS HELPS tremendously!!!

Hi, I have a font installed from Adobe Fonts. Despite it being installed, it still shows the asterisk and won't display the correct font within the document. Do you know why this may be happening?

Hi there
Hope you are doing well and thanks for reaching out.
Once the fonts are added, they will appear in the font menu of each application, alongside all of your locally installed fonts. They will be immediately available in most programs, but a few need to be restarted to add new fonts to the menu.
Fonts are added on your computer through Creative Cloud desktop. If you do not have the software installed, you can download it here. Added fonts are shown in Creative Cloud desktop by clicking the f menu icon in the upper right corner.

Thanks Amal 🙂 Yes, I have Abode Illustrator and have installed the font from Adobe Fonts and the Creative Cloud Desktop. Within the Adobe Fonts interface the font is listed as installed, but with Illustrator it will not display. So I think I have done everything correctly, but it still doesn't work.
