Can anyone with the link, open the document?

Question

Hi Guys,I was just toying around with the adobe scan app. Great app! I love it, but I got myself a link to try, if I could open it on my computerand to my surprise I could. I was a little shocked, since there is some slightly private data in there. So my question is: can anyone with the link open this?Can I 'un'share it, if so? So that only someone with the appropriate email address (and adobe account) can view the document?Kind Regards, Mark

Hi Mark,As per your statement what I understand is that you shared a link to the file. If I am correct, then yes anyone who has the link can open the file (until the file is deleted from the account or unshared).You can share the link to the scanned file via email account as well.- Open the scanned file and click on the share icon- Select either Share Link or Email to.- Now a link will be generated.- Then it will show you options to send the link.- Select the email account through which you need to send the link.If you wish to share the file as an attachment to an email, you can select "Share a copy".You can also refer to the steps provided here Working with Scanned Documents — Adobe Scan Help under " Share scans via any available method on your device".To unshare the file:- Open this link https://cloud.acrobat.com/ and sign-in with your Adobe ID and password that you used for Adobe Scan application.- Then go to Files > Sent- Select the file from the list- At extreme right, you can view the options to unshare or remove the PDF.Hope the information helps.Let us know if you are referring to something else.Regards,Meenakshi

Hi there.I believe the above reply applies if one has uploaded the document from an account. However I have some specific questions regarding Adobe Scan, I am hoping I can get some help with.1) What happens to a link and connected documents if they are not linked to an account? I tried adding the link to my account, but I cannot remove it from the clould. I can only remove the link from my account but the link still exists out there on the cloud.2) For how long is the link available?3) Do the documents get deleted after a while? I would certainly hope so.I just think it is a bit strange that when sharing as a "link" without having a registered account I haven't been asked or informed about what happens to the link afterwards. Your answer is highly appreciated. Cheers
