How can I import files into Adobe Scan?

I have the files saved in my phone memory (downloaded from Camscanner & saved to Local Folder).

Hi @L G R @FiZzY WiZzY295675032f6f,

Hope you are doing well. Per the description, you want to view other PDF files in Adobe Scan.

To do so, you will need to upload those files to https://acrobat.adobe.com/link/documents/ in the My Scan folder (works only if you use Android device)

Once done, the files should appear in the list for Adobe Scan.

Hope this helps.

Doesn't work for me. It says the file could not be imported and doesn't offer any further explanation. I already uploaded the pdf to Adobe cloud through the link you gave.

Hi @Mohammed35013335iqif,

The pdfs should be uploaded to the Adobe Scan folder.

Once done, it takes some time and the files should show up in the app home list.

If this is not the case, would you mind hsaring a screen recording of what you see? This will help us investigate further into the issue and provide you with troubleshooting steps.

I got it on the app, but it says the file can't be modified because it may have been made or modified outside of Adobe scanner, what should I do?

Hi @Abyss877 @paul_5426,

Hope you are doing well. Thanks for writing in!

Were the files previously created using Adobe Scan? If yes, you shouldn't be seeing this.

But if not, Adobe Scan will not be able to rewrite the file's metadata, and thus, the error is thrown.

If the files are created using Adobe Scan and you still see the error, do let us know, and we will check this further with the team.

Meanwhile, you can use the three dots to open the file in Acrobat and make the necessary edits.

Hope this helps.

Hi @Imran22084170545r,

With the latest version of Adobe Scan, you can follow the same workflow and view the PDF files on iOS, too.

Give the new version a try, and let us know if it helped.

@S. S I managed to get as far as having the document appear in my list on Adobe Scan (iOS), however I then get a message saying "This file can't be further modified. You may be able to make changes to the original file." How do I work around this?

I would like an answer too.  I uploaded numerous PDFs created or modified using Adobe Acrobat, but want to continue adding pages via Adobe Scan app on my phone.   But says, "This file can't be further modified. You may be able to make changes to the original file."   Quite frustrating considering that the files are created/modified by Adobe products.

Hi @Spirited_skill9371,

Hope you are doing well. Thanks for writing in!

As mentioned above, if the files are edited outside of Adobe Scan, you cannot make more modifications to the same file.

For that specific functionality, you do have Acrobat Reader Mobile.

Every app has its own set of features and limitations. Adobe Scan, being an independent cloud-based application, has the option to allow editing of files that are solely created out of the same app.

The steps I mentioned above are to help users get their files back to the home screen of Adobe Scan.

Hope this clarifies your question.

Regards,
Souvik.
