Manual Graph Editor Zoom not working (v24.5.0)

  • Version: After Effects (Beta) 24.5.0 (Build 😎
  • Platform: Windows 11 (Version 23H2 - OS Build 22631.3447)

  • Basic steps to reproduce the problem:

When having the grpah editor open and the "Snap" option disabled (that little magnet icon at the bottom) its possible to go up and down using the mouse wheel and it should also be possible to zoom in and out by holding down CTRL/ the Control key while using the mouse wheel.

  • Expected result and actual result:

But in the beta version of After Effects (v24.5.0) this doesn't seem to work (nothing happens when doing so), the same thing works in After Effects 2024 though (v24.3.0).

I thought this was maybe an issue with the keyboard shortcuts settings I have selected but it also doesn't work with the default ones.
So I suspect this to be a bug that came with the new GPU accelerated UI maybe?

@JohnColombo17100380I'm sorry for having reported this issue; it can now be closed.

I just realized that one of the plugins I was using was also listening to the same shortcut, which caused it not to get through to the After Effects interface. I didn't realize that—my bad!

Sorry I forgot to include that detail yeah, I did disable the "auto zoom graph height" by clicking the magnifying glass button in both versions, otherwise the zoom and going up and down in the graph editor wouldn't work.

I’m not sure if this is a problem specific to the after effects beta version on windows, maybe it’s different on macOS.

I'll provide a screen recording of trying to zoom in in the graph editor in both versions (ae beta and ae 2024)

I also just realized that I’m not on the latest ae beta version anymore so I will check if updating it resolves the issue.
Thanks for the reply

Hi @Fury Zenblade,

Thank you for reporting this issue. Do you have "Auto-zoom graph height" enabled at the bottom of the Graph Editor? (The icon is a magnifying glass with next to an up-down arrow) I'm on a Mac, but I see that enabling Auto-zoon graph height disables my ability to scroll up and down, or zoom with Cmd held down.

Thanks for any additional info you can provide,
