"3d camera tracker doesn't work with collapse transformations"

I keep getting this error when I'm editing in Premiere Pro and replacing to After Effects. I've zero clue how to fix it, never had this issue before. If there is anyone who knows how to fix, then please let me know!

Well, it means what it says. You have CT/ CR enabled (the little sun symbol). Turn it off and things will work. You might want to read the online help about such basics.

Thanks for the answer but why do you feel the need to be so rude?

For some reason you have pre-composed your footage. As Mylenium said, just turn off Collapse Transformations. If you don't need to mask things out or run some color correction on your footage to make Track Camera work then you're better off just using the original footage, just make sure that you set in and out points so you don't waste time tracking footage that doesn't need to be tracked.

Could you expand on why it's better to track original footage vs a precomposed layer?

I always pre-compose footage before running any kind of tracking. Adding contrast and enhancing detail will give you better tracking accuracy whether you use AE's built-in trackers or Mocha AE, Mocha Pro, or any other tracker. You also do not want to have extra frames hanging around because they can easily foul up things like Rotobrush or other effects that rely on the Layer panel instead of the Comp panel. Just make sure you move all attributes and trim the pre-comp to the length of the layers. When you get the tracking done, you can easily open up the Pre-comp and return any color correction to normal for the rest of the compositing.

Oh, I thought you were saying the opposite. I also always pre-compose prior to tracking. Thanks for clarifying!
