After Effects and Media Encoder freezing/crashing when rendering any project

Question

In After Effects, when trying to select the output module or save location of a composition in the renderlist, the program freezes. When instead starting the render in Media Encoder, I get an error report and ME crashes. I have tried almost everything you can think of to troubleshoot this:

-Hardware acceleration off
-Cache emptied
-Safe mode
-Preferences and Plugins reset
-Opened AE as admin
-Software-rendering activated
-AE/ME reinstalled & different version
-Used GPU changed from dedicated to internal
-Automatic destinations deleted

Interestingly, this problem does not occur when using the beta version of After Effects.

AE version: 25.1 (also tested 24.1)

OS: Windows 11 Pro

RAM: 16GB

GPU: NVIDIA T500

CPU: 11th Gen Intel Core i5-1135G7

Sorry to hear about the issue. Are you able to perform actions that involve the use of Windows Explorer? For example, are you able to import a media file or save the project file? Are there any crash reports?
