After Effects not opening on a Macbook Air

Hey everyone,

I have a Macbook Air High Sierra, processor 1.6 GHz Intel Core i5.

Adobe After Effects opens but when I try to open a project or create a new one, nothing happens. I don't get an error message nor does the program crash. After Effects is up-to-date and I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling to no avail.

Any ideas?
