After Effects running out of memory on one device, but not on the other

So, using After Effects on my PC (R7 2700X, GTX 1070 ti, 32GB 2133MHz RAM) is painful. I have to use quarter quality or else it will within 3 seconds spew out the "unable to allocate memory" thing. But on my laptop (8850H, P2000 Mobile, 32GB also but probably slightly faster RAM, still DDR4), it runs full quality and never has any out of memory issues. What could be causing this?

Hi Pixel 3D X,

Please share the following details

  1. Does it happen with all the projects? Can you test the same project on both computers?
  2. Are there any third-party plug-ins installed?
  3. Try clearing media cache and running After Effects in Safe Mode and see if it helps.

Let us know the outcome.

Thanks,

Nishu

also I did try the same project on both systems. My more powerful one crashes, my less powerful one is doing just fine
