We're sorry for the issue and thanks for sharing the crash log. We got the logs analyzed and it seems like the report is not complete. Would you mind taking a look at this thread and share the crash log as mentioned here: FAQ: How to find After Effects crash logs on your computer?

Additionally, it is a good practice to check the permissions when any Adobe application gives an issue at start-up. Check out this article: Fixing permissions problem (slow startup)

Hi, Sorry to bring up an old post but I and my team are all experiencing the exact same problem. Log File Here 

At a complete loss, I've uninstalled, used the adobe removal program and reintalled and still having the same problem. We have cleared temp data, reset preferences, cleared caches etc with no avail. I have to force close and reopen the program <5 times to get it to finally open. It has happened to three other co-workers after updating to 18.1 AE. Even after rolling back we have the same problem still.
