I am trying to make a video go through text I created in Illustrator. The track matte drop down menu does not have Alpha Track Matte, which is needed to do this. I am not sure where I am going wrong.
You may want to read the online help on the correct procedures. This stuff has changed in AE 2023 and it was widely announced:

Always check the OG source before following outdated tutorials that may not (yet) reflect the latest additions and changes.
