Can't find the Bezier handles.

I was following this tutorial here and he animates a shape by using the bezier handles.

I don't seem to have the option to curve the position path. Could someone tell me what I'm missing?

I included a Screenshot of my project where I would like to round out the path. I know I could use the graph editor but I'm mostly just confused that I've never had these other handles.

Thank you!

If you have a layer selected, and position is animated, and your Preferences are set to display all keyframes in the Display section, you should see a motion path. To add or edit the motion path, you can use the Pen tool (g) and the Alt/Option key to create a bezier handle on a keyframe that does not have one, edit the bezier handles, or remove them. You can also use the selection tool to grab bezier handles or keyframes and edit their position in the comp panel.

Maybe this tutorial will help:

Hey, I've found how to fix that!

Oh my goodness, thank you so much for those screenshots! My lecturer's handles were switched on but didn't provide an explanation how to get them.

I had the same problems with a similar tutorial. I had made a bunch of keyframes for an object to move along a path in the timeline. The tuturial said to "Click a keyframe in the Composition panel to reveal its Bezier handles, if they aren't already shown." But that didn't work. No Bezier handles were shown! So I converted the keyframes with the Convert Vertex Tool, a subset of the Pen tool. Then I clicked on each keyframe to make those Bezier handles.

I assume you are talking about the Graph Editor.

The first step when using the graph editor on Position: set the graph to edit the speed graph. The value graph is pretty useless for editing properties with arrays like Position, Scale, Anchor Point, and anything else with more than one value.

Second step, If you have not already set the keyframes to Ease, you can do that with the Shortcut key F9 or the ease buttons at the bottom of the graph editor.

no in my comment I mentioned that I know about how to get handles in the graph editor but I want the handles on the comp screen so I can manipulated them like on the object. Like in the video

Linear keys don't have tangent handles. Convert them to Bezier keys. You may want to actually read the online help on some basics before relying on tutorials that simply assume you know those things.

Well thank you for the slightly passive agressive answer. I actually did a lot of research and couldn't find anything about converting to Bézier curves nor could I find the right language to do further research But at least now I know Linear keys don't have tangent handles. Just gotta figure out how to convert them. But I won't ask on this forum again since it's clear people aren't happy to be helpful.
