Change AE default font on both OS X and Windows

Hi all,

I was working with a template on an iMac and did't have one of the fonts needed.

So AE changed it to default which looked fine.

I need to continue working on this project on a PC, but that apparently uses a different default font, which messes everything up.

I tried to find it manually by replacing it with some well known fonts, but couldn't find a match.

Is there a way of finding out which font the Mac used when resorting to default?

    Hello,

    I am not sure about the specific file to edit. One option is to check and edit the preference files under the directory below.

    C:\Users\{your log-in name}\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\After Effects\{version}\

    If you open the file named "Adobe After Effects * Prefs-text.txt", you find "Font Family Name" and "Font PostScript Name". They may control the primary font setting.

    Thanks! Seems to be the right direction.

    Only thing is when I change the font in that file and save it, AE still overwrites it with it's own chosen default (Cuprum) on startup.

    But now I at least know where to look on OS X as well, so I can find out which font that one uses.

    Guess i'll just have to manually change it to that one on Windows, but I can live with that.

    Hello,

    When you open the existing projects and some fonts are missing in your environment, After Effects shows the list of the missing fonts. Is it what you look for? Do you talk about the fonts used in UI?

    I talk about the "default font" which After Effects uses tot replace a missing font.

    After Effect on Windows seems to use a different one than After Effects on OS X.

    Installing the missing font (Intro) on both machines is not an option at this point (would mess up the entire project).

    I need to change the default font on Windows to match the one on OS X.

    I just don't know which one they both use or where to find/edit that.

    Any help would be appreciated.
