@Elliott27055940h3la Sorry to hear you're having these issues. It sounds like you're using Acrobat; this forum post and fix were specifically for After Effects. Perhaps try posting in the Acrobat forums for assistance?

Cheers,

This issue isn't fixed. I'm using roughly the same setup on an english version of windows. I saw some people saying that the chinese version should be installed. How is this a fix? I'm English and I want to sometimes type in Chinese without my computer crashing. Apparently that's not a thing in acrobat.

It crashes whenever I am adding comments to a document and then switch to Chinese input (Simplified Chinese - Microsoft Pinyin)

To be honest this program is back to front a disaster. It feels like a beta test. amond the litany of issues I think this may be related to the one where all of the comment text suddenly and for no apparent reason turns to garbage, with no fix in spite of some users having had success by changing the embedded font settings.

I'm putting the level of annoying and timewastyness of this issue next to the one where the ipad version slowly crunches the vectors of my hand written notes into little spikey illegible triangles.

Thank U very much for your help, I think this problem was fixed by your development team.

My keyboard device is Logi MX Mechanical Mini. and already set the system language to Simplified Chinese in windows 11 and After Effects both.

I have only two flavors to switch to each other(Simplified Chinese and English),moreover,The inputting method built into the windows operating system, I don't have any thirdparty input method.

I have reinstalled after effects by English or Simplified Chinese many times, still doesn't work for me.

But, Today was a nice day. because I received many software update notices from Creative Cloud Desktop,When I upgraded the AE software,I was surprised to find that the Crash problem was gone!!!

It's amazing, Thank you and adobe development team again.

Nice! Good job. Yay~!!!

Sorry for the frustration, we'd like to help if possible.

This not a known crash specific to Chinese or other keyboard input. It also doesn’t happen for me by just switching the keyboard input to Simplified Chinese (pinyin) and adding text in Ae. So we will need more info, like:
  • What flavor of Chinese input did you switch to (there are many flavors of both Simplified and Traditional Chinese to choose from) and does it happen with all sorts of flavors?
  • Is the app/OS installed in Chinese?
  • Are you using a Chinese keyboard or are they using the IME (Input Method Editor) box with a Latin-based keyboard?
  • Does changing any of these things make the crash go away?

Also, I saw that one of our community expoets ask them if you have tried re-installing in Chinese (or otherwise), which would also be worth knowing.

Have you actually reinstalled AE in Chinese?
