Creating a Music-Responsive RGB Split Effect in After Effects

Hello everyone,

I hope you're doing well! I have a question regarding After Effects and how to create a music-responsive RGB split effect that changes its size based on the background music. I'm trying to achieve a visually engaging effect that syncs with the audio.

I have already experimented with the RGB split effect in After Effects, but I'm unsure about how to make it react to the music and adjust its size accordingly. I would greatly appreciate it if someone could provide me with some guidance or point me in the right direction to achieve this effect.

If you have any experience or knowledge about creating music-reactive visual effects in After Effects, I would love to hear your insights and suggestions. Additionally, if there are any particular plugins or techniques that could be useful for achieving this effect, please let me know.

Thank you so much for your time and assistance. I look forward to hearing your thoughts and recommendations.

So that video looks like it's using the beat to drive the effect's distance.  While AE doesn't have natural beat detection I think there's one on aescripts.com.

But if you're prepared to settle for volume as the controller, I made a tutorial a while back showing how to get particles to "dance to music"
