Deleting an effect pasted with property links crashes the program

Hi, does anybody know how to remove effects that have been pasted with property links? Not sure if I'm using them incorrectly or if this is a bug. I have the Roughen Edges effect (pasted with property links) applied to a bunch of different text layers and when I try to delete the effect from any one individual layer (that's not the original copy) the application crashes. I think I may have been too aggressive with using the same "parent" effect in too many places, but I can't seem to undo this mistake... For now, I'm just disabling the effect, but this isn't a super ideal solution. Anyone have any ideas?

I'm running macOS Big Sur version 11.1 with After Effects version 17.5.1 – let me know if more information is needed.

I've got the same issue on Macbook M1 Max on 22.2.1

Freezes when I try to delete property linked effects.

Mostly it looks like a bug, try to open this project on a different PC and see if you still face the same issue, and if so as Roland says report this bug here https://www.adobe.com/products/wishform.html

If you can reproduce the issue starting from a new setup then it's most likely a bug. Please file a Bug Report and include your AEP, if you are not restricted to do so.
