Question

Dynamic Link of .aegraphics files from Premiere to After Effects?

Hello AE Community,

I created a project in premiere using .aegraphic templates (added to the timeline using the Essential Graphics panel).

It is all animated text work.

Now I want to create some animation work in AE that will go with the timing of the premiere work.  I tried nesting the premiere timeline then creating a dynamic link so I can see the premiere timeline in AE.

The problem is once I use the "Replace with After Effects..." it shows up in AE with the Essential Graphics Template files as offline (and I get a file not recognized error).  I tried re-connecting them from AE to the actual files on disk but AE wont show the .aegraphics, i.e. it can't import them. Copying and pasting from premiere to AE shows the same errors.

Is there any way to do this with a dynamic link or do I have to render out a file from premiere?  I need the premiere work in AE in order to match up the timing as I'm working in AE.

Where are the files saved? Replace with After Effects Composition should find any footage stored on the same drive you use for all assets. Just using a template should not foul this up unless they did something to the template to intentionally hide things.

Try searching your drive for the missing footage. Start in Premiere Pro and reveal the original files. Using the same path in AE would replace the footage.
