Hi everyone,

I have a quick question that I hope someone could help me shed some light on:

I want to export a series of VFX comps for grading. I would like to export my full image, but with an embedded alpha channel. So the image has an alpha channel, but if I reimport it and switch the Alpha off the entire image reappears.

Is there any way to do this in AE? In Nuke and Fusion it doesnt seem to be a problem, but I cant seem to find a way to do it in AE.

Hope you have an idea ❤️

also you can import RBG and Alpha layer in the comp, and export as exr sequence.

I've gotten this to work by using the Stencil Alpha Blending Mode on the front most Layer to create the transparency in the Composition and then render to a 32-bit Targa Image Sequence with the alpha set to Premultiplied.

Otherwise, it's rendering a RGB movie with any method of creating Layer transparency disabled and then a second Alpha Only movie with whatever is being used for Layer transparency enabled and using those two files together.
