Export to web css

I want to export a placeholder animation from after effects to the web, such that I can replace the image/video of the placeholder from the web. Lottie files are useless here as I cannot replace the image inside of it. Any idea how to achieve this?

There is no such thing. These things simply work completely differently and short of creating your own script that generates the 3D CSS code I see no way of doing it.

There's no AE to CSS exporter that I know of. Lottie via Bodymovin or LottieFiles is your best option. I believe they have beta options for images and if you poke around in the code you can probably figure out how to replace an image.
