help! could not create the file: the file could not be found when saving project

every time i try to save my project it comes up with "after effects warning: could not create the file (my file's name). the file could not be found.

any ideas on how to fix this? projects due very soon and i cant work on it because it wont let me save which is weird because it was letting me save until today 😞

ive tried clearing cache, changing R/W access and i havent moved any files around.
