How to add comps into other comps - Automation Blocks - After Effects

I want to add comps into other comps in sequence, so that "each clip starts where the previous clip ends." I tried using the "Creating a Comp with Clips" block, and while it works sometimes, it doesn't always work for my case.

All my comps are in the same bin. Is it possible to add these comps into another comp in sequence?

Thanks in advance!

I just recorded this tutorial for you explaining how to insert clips from the project panel into the active composition using Automation Blocks:

You can download the script shown in the tutorial now also in the Community Library at

Layer/Insert/Insert Selected Project Items into Active Comp Sequentially.xml

Not sure what you mean with "doesn't always work", exactlly. But if you want to have more control, you can loop over the comps, add them one by one to the main comp via the Create New Footage Layer block (you can provide a comp as footage item to create a new precomp layer with that comp).

I am not good at English and am using AI to translate.

Please forgive me if there are any mistakes. I

want to move these comps to the output comp in sequence.

I don’t want to create a new comp for this.
