How to find out what plugins and effects a file is using?

I have been given some AE files from another compositor which I need to fix. There are a lot of messages regarding missing effects and licenses due to the files using a lot of plugins and me not having any installed myself. Is there a way to easily find out all the plugin dependencies of a project?

You already use the right method. Unless someoen ran a Collect Files... or used a script to generate a text file with this info there is no way to just look at an AE file and see what effects it references.
