How to get AE to point to New version of Adobe Media Encoder

Question

I just upgraded to new version of Adobe Media Encoder. However, AE is looking for the old version and can't find it because I uninstalled. How to I get AE to start using AME 2020 for my export renders? thank you.

I could output from AE to an AVI file and then import that into AME but this is almost 2020, I shouldn't have to revert ot Windows 95 era fixes like this. If that's the case then Adobe needs to mention this in their tutorials and Cisco Press books that if you get this error message you can no longer export from AE to AME directly.

Same old, same old: Start by reinstalling AE and AME with sufficient user privieleges and then make sure to also run them in a manner their connections aren't being blocked. Mylenium
