Nope! By default, masks cycle through a few colors, so if you make multiple masks on a single layer, you'll be able to easily tell the difference.
You can manually change the colors by clicking on the masks' little color chips.
If you want to disable that color-cycling behavior, you can do so in Preferences > Appearance > Cycle Mask Colors.
