Mesh warp

Hello, I am making a short animated video and I have been able to distort - mesh warp the background to unravel as paper. But I cannot repeat this features on a new image - so ontop of the bakcground. Does anyone know why it might not be working and how I can do this please. 🙂

hopefully these screenshots help anyone answer my issue :). I am trying to make the door crumble as I have done for the background in image 3. however it will not let me do this to the door then there is a background behind. :(. if anyone can use these images to help and give advice I woudl highly appreicate it 🙂

Show us a screenshot! The catch probably is that you didn't consider effects b eing based on layer coordinates and sizes and now can't just copy& paste stuff. Pre-composing may be necessary.

which part should I show a screenshot of? what I currently have? would that be helpful ?
