Hello, I am very new to AE and trying to complete a project. I have been searching in the forum but am not finding the right questions as I am not sure how to word this issue. If anyone can decipher what I mean to be asking, I thought it would be worth a shot. 

 

With the text and effects working well, I made a small edit to the wording of my text. I must have hit a key while outside the editing panel. You may be able to see in the image attached that -- while there is no motion in the images, the structure of the individual letters seem to flicker on and off. Not the entire character but just portions of them. For example the 'M' is missing the left leg of the letter, and the Y is missing the bottom leg, etc. This tends to 'flicker' but not as flickering is normally. Almost like there is another text strng floating over it or something, occassionally blocking out portions of other characters, etc. Any thoughts? Thanks!

    Your characters appear to have a thickness of about 1 pixel. Unless they perfectly align with the pixel grid and any movement is not precisely a whole number of pixels per frame, the thin lines are going to flicker. 

     

    There is also the chance that you have a corrupted Text layer. That doesn't happen very often, but a few days ago, it happened to me. My only solution was to create a new text layer and copy and paste the effects and animators to the new layer. I think the position and movement of the incredibly thin characters are more likely to be the cause of the problem. The minimum thickness for a horizontal or vertical line in a pixel based project like video should be 2 pixels. Three or four would be a better design.

    Unless you can assure us that this is at 100% zoom and full resolution, none of that is relevant. All I see is the normal antialiasing/ degeneration on thin text when it's not viewed at full resolution and even then you'll see some issues due to what font face you are using which would be perfectly normal.

      Thanks! The other text layers do not behave in the same manner. I have gone line by line to try and find any differences between those other layers and the layer that has the issue. I occurs during transition as well as once it has fully transformed and stopped motion, opacity, etc.
