Hi,

I am quite new to After Effect.

When I try to apply Effect Presets, the After Effect's Effect & Presets window under Text only shows two kinds of presets (Numbers and Timecode)

Then when I "browse in Bridge", there are more presets that I am expected:

When I apply the preset from Bridge, I get error message:

This never happened to me before.

Everything is update in versions.

Please help me solve the problem.

I know this is an old thread, but I came here to share that my students ran into this same problem. We have had no issue with adding text animators by executing Animation > Browse Presets... until this week.

After messing around on one of their computers, it seems that Ae prefers going to menu on the Effects & Presets panel and clicking Browse Presets there. We work in a closed network within the our district so our programs are often locked down and have no control over version updates and patches, so this kind of stuff happens sometimes. Thought I'd share!

Perhaps an issue with the folder permissions then. Select the parent folder and do a right-click --> Info to check these things.

This is a known bug. Presets cannot be applied via Bridge. The Effects & Presets palette doesn't show more because you seem to have set it to only show effects, not presets. Check the flyout menu for the panel.

I am not sure if I understood it...

Is there any ways to set the preference to show presets as well?

I checked my folder and all the presets in the AE are there:
