Problem with not showing layers in After Effects

Hello Adobe Community,
so far I have tried to help myself and scoured the internet for a solution. To no avail.
Hence my question to you, can you help me?
I have an After Effects problem on a simple film project where I use several hundred layers, with memory-heavy footage. I'm using After Effects 2023 version 23.6.0 (Build 62) or 24.0 with same issues on a 2020 M1 Mac Book Air with Apple's Sonoma 14.0.
The thing is that after I saved my project and reopened it, the error overflow ratio denominators are converted. (17 § 19). When I want to work on my subcomposition "film", the lowest layers are "removed" or "withheld" or "cut off" (see screenshot)
The strange thing is that I can still see the content of it in the preview window, even when I export the movie, you can see everything I had created in these lower layers. I just can't access it anymore in the timeline. I don't see them anymore either, they should actually appear at the bottom if you scroll further down?
What I did: Reboot, clear caches, and checked old backups. No result.
Is there anything I might have missed or can do? The goal would be to be able to call up and edit the layers again.
Would be very grateful for your help!
Regards, Jan
