your system has run out of application memory when I use content aware fill

After effects is eating away at my application memory. For some reason when ever I try using the content aware fill effect, it will analyse up to 37% every single time then show up with "Your system has run out of application memory" as seen in the attached photo. Before pressing generate, I had 120gb storage free on my mac and by the time it hits 37% and forces me to quit it has eaten up 45gb of starage and says that after effects is using over 100gb even though it is a very simple 10 second composition with nothing else done to it apart from this effect which won't work. Im running a fairly new M3 chip with 18gb of ram. If anyone could suggest any potential fixes asap that would be greatly appreciated,
