Pin selected layer(s) to the top of the layer stack in composition

I would love it if there was an option to pin a layer (or multiple layers) on top of a stack of other composition layers.

Benefit? If I worked with any of the layers below, I would still have as visible reference audio waveform, markers, keyframes etc.
