smooth zooming via mouse

Instead of jumping in intervals when zooming, I'd very much prefer a smooth means of zooming to go along with the smooth panning we have. Its one of the experience pleasantries I have with other apps and wish it were in AE as well.

Its nice for when dealing with details. Roto, checking key edges, etc.

Custom ZOOM factor.
Canvas that is too large to use 'fit' is also too small to see at 50% or 100%.

Someone is having a lot of fun in Adobe about this weird decision of not offering custom zoom, the soft obviously can, the users obviously need it, every all other soft offers it, so only conclusion is a very old and very grumpy exec is blocking it.
Waiting for the ghost of the past Xmast.

I would be fine if it was just possible to view the comp with 75% and 150% zoom.
(even thou the AA between pixels then is not perfect.)

have a dynamic zoom on After Effects, like on Illustrator or Photoshop ...

I'd like to see 75% View Window Size within Composition view.

On 24" monitors (I've four together), 50% is too small, Fit up to 100% (which is 83.2% for me) is too big.

I'd love you to add 75% to the pop-up

Echoing other comments, but to put it in the language of the UI in other products: scrubby zoom in the comp/footage/layer windows. I go and work on something in Ps or Ai where I can easily zoom in and out with mouse/tablet input, and immediately I come back and have to bang my head on the stepwise zoom in Ae.

so, the reason they don't do this, is because the Nearest Neighbor scaling that is used for the window, only works for integer scaling. (x1, x2, x3, x4 etc.)
With a nearest/bilinear hybrid (also know as sharp bilinear) your pixel edges get blended together.
Combined with a perfectly smooth zoom ability, you'd never be seeing what your canvas actually looks like.... just a fuzzier version of it.
Here you can see a full explanation, (though it is to do with scaling within AE, not scaling of the main window itself.): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fKV1JFE0_Nk

Anyway, Adobe, if you do put this feature in, for the love of God, put in the option to turn it off, and go back to the way it works now. Many of us do NOT want a smooth zoom.

This was similar requested many times.

Let's keep it easy for the beginning - not asking for

- dynamic zoom like in Illustrator
- or finer zoom control

JUST add 75% zoom level.

50% is so small, 100% cuts of the edges. 75% would be such a pleasure to work with!

Would love to see this!

At least, give us 75% instead of only 100 and 50% (and decreasing).
