I need help! I'm using Audition to mix audio files, that I have synch with pluraleyes.
When I import my xml file Audition keeps doing : "converting sample types", and therefore makes copies of my files. I just want to use the one I have already. I don't understand why it want to convert all the time (in 48000)
I have changed in settings/Audio material/ and selected 44100 it doesn't do anything
I don't get it and really want Audition to stop converting and duplicating my files...

what should I do?

Any session in Audition can only run at a single sample rate. So if you have files at a different sample rate that you want to use in it, they have to be converted - there's no way around that, I'm afraid.

Yes, but what was the session rate? And what is the format of the files? If they aren't wav files, they will still need to be converted, because wav is Audition's native format, and the one it works in.

When you start a new session, it asks you in the session setup what sample rate you want to use for the session. If you try to import files with a different rate, it will do a sample rate conversion on them and use the converted file in the session. I've never seen Audition resample a file when it didn't need to...

Are you sure your imported files are 44.1kHz?

It is rather more usual for audio from video files to be 48kHz.  In which case, as @SteveG_AudioMasters_ writes, if your session is 44.1 Audition must convert the sample rate.

If you want to use 44.1kHz audio files in a session and not have them resampled by Audtion to 48kHz, the only way in which you can do this is to set your Audition Session Sample Rate to 44.1kHz.

I understand what you are saying about PluralEyes, but are your audio files 44.1kHz before importing to that app?  As I wrote before, 44.1kHz is not the "standard" sample rate for audio for video.

Both files are 44100 but one is 24bit and the other one is 16bits
I guess I'll have to set up my recorders so they are all recording at the same rate then to not have this issue , if really it works...
I don't see why 44100 is not good for video? I've always been like that and it's always worked fine

44.1kHz is not not good, it is simply not standard for video!

I don't know whether the fact that one file is 24bit and the other 16 will create any problems, I rather think it won't.

I assume from this that you are now creating a 44.1kHz session in Audition?  Or do you mean you are now bypassing PluralEyes?
