Add Metadata "Description" as a Panel

Is it possible to add the Metadata Description field as a panel by itself? The Description Field is my most frequently used field. Flipping back and forth between Filmstrip and Metadata (or Essentials) Workspaces takes a lot of time. Putting my most frequently accessed metadata field into a panel all by itself would save me a lot of time.

I see there is a way to add a Metadata panel, but it comes with too much space overhead.

Click the metadata panel options and deselect  "Show Metadata Placard"

You can also choose to only show the Description field by opening the metadata panel preferences and deselecting all the fields you don't want.

Sorry, you can't shrink the space to the left of the text box (blue arrow in your screenshot). This should be possible, but it's not in Bridge 2023 or 2024.

You could move the metadata panel to a wider location, like above the content panel. This will introduce a lot of wasted space though.

Lumigraphics:

I’m sure someone could write a script to do this, but it isn’t me!

Deselecting Metadata Placard helped.

Show only description field is much easier to say than to do… but I did it.

The current state of my small Metadata panel:

Moving the Metadata panel to be above the preview panel is a bit of a space hog… but it works.

You guys are full of options!

I'd love to see a custom panel to display the Description field.

Thanks!

I just noticed that deselecting everything but the description field totally screws up the Metadat Workspace.

You could write a script to handle this.
