Adobe Bridge 14.0.2 is still slow to load previews!

Explorer ,
Feb 26, 2024 Feb 26, 2024

Hello,

I draw your attention to the slow loading of the preview when scrolling through the previews quickly. This still happens in the new version of Adobe Bridge 14.0.2.

Waiting for the preview to load is really annoying. I mean, before the preview is rendered, it's still kind of pixelated. My thumbnails are always cached. This happens even after clearing the cache.

It was fine in version 14. I have it ttested. Please really fix do it! it seriously disrupts the speed of

processing the order and, above all, it hurts the eyes! I didn't buy a $5000 USD MB to wait for something!

Apple M1 Max, 32 RAM, 2 TB
Latest Sonoma Updates

I am sending a sample here.

V14.0.0

Works well. previews are sharp and still loaded when browsing.

V14.0.2

They are broken and out of focus when scrolling. always takes time to render.

V12 is better than any of these.

14.0.3 is still as slow in previewing. The preview is not immediately seen sharp, but always seems to have to render. - It's really annoying. This makes browsing photos really uncomfortable and slow.

in version 14.0.0 this works absolutely perfectly.

V13-V14 are still experimental, use V12.

They had to replace the underlying structure to work with the other porgrams, i.e. futureproofing. This new foundation is whats causing the horrible performance. The say it's still being looked into, but nothing so far.

So, if this is not adressed, most of the users wont be switching to anything newer. But if we know Adobe by now, they will probbaly ignore this and keep using the new foundation. And probably try to stick AI-features in bridge 🙂

I am not inclined to believe the “Adobe party line” that the underlying architecture changes were necessary to support other programs or “future proofing” anything.  I suspect the changes were necessary to support the floating panels feature and the multiple content window feature.

Both, as it turns out are little more than unnecessary bling that appears to have significantly damaged the overall performance of the application.

I can see why you reason liek this. Although, this is what they told me during our meeting. A lot of underlaying stuff has been replaced apparently, according to them. One of the new functions, the floating panels for one, is a part of this. But if they told you different, then there is a bit of trouble I guess 🙂

Hello, version 14.0.4. still showing slower image rendering problem when scrolling through photos in a folder.

I will try to explain this error one more time.

Version 14.0.0 which is fine works.

When browsing the photos in the folder, it shows no need to render the previews. This means that when you select a photo - the image is immediately sharp and you don't have to wait a single second for the image to be rendered.

14.0.1 -> 14.0.4. with other, newer versions,

the problem is that when I select any photo while browsing photos, I always wait at least 1 second in the preview for the image to focus. (rendered).

Believe that when sorting 3000 thousand photos, waiting 1s for each photo is a total of 3000 seconds waiting for one sorting. This means that a delay of up to 9000 seconds can occur on one job, because the folder needs to be browsed several times in order to sort out the best shots - This is a total of 2 hours and 30 minutes longer processing of the order. And that's really a lot of waiting that one can't afford.

Please
solve this problem!

Im on windows, the newest version is 14.1 and also/still having the same problem. Went back to 14.0 (so thanks for this tip!) and at first it seemed the problem persisted, but after clearing the cache, it generated new previews and worked, is loading the previews without any lag. ... so maybe the bug is somewhere in the files the newer version generaes for the previews..

Version 15.1.1 still has this issue. Why did adobe remove version 12 from the "Other Versions"? That worked just fine for scrolling through jpegs. This needs to be sorted for people that need to present jpegs through adobe bridge.
