Bridge 13.0 Flickering Full Screen Preview

Select any image (jpg, nef, tiff) > View > Full screen preview > right arrow key for next image. On changing slowly to view the next image and viewing it for 5 sec or more, the image is displays properly. On changing quickly, or very quickly, through the next 3-5 images, then stopping to view an image, the viewed image does not display properly; its brightness flickers and someimes its size flickers. Must restart Bridge to fix this. Tried purging the cache and relocating the cache, but neither solved the problem.

Bridge 13.0.0.562. Windows 11 Pro (22H2, build 22621.755).  GeForce RTX 2060 (Studio driver 522,30).

I'm just following this thread, as it is currently Aug-2025 and this issue persists.  As a paying subscriber to Adobe's line of products, I am a bit surprised by the lack of follow-through from Adobe on addressing this issue.  In our photo studio we are running 2022 Mac Studio M1 Ultra with OSX 15.6 and Adobe Bridge 15.1.1.  Thumbnails of images regularly blink/flicker (as if they're updating).  The same happens to full screen previews.  This is a problem that's easily reproduced, and I invite Adobe to contact me so that I may share with them a video screen recording if that's what's needed to help them isolate and address this issue: [Content removed by Moderator]

Subsequently, I had tried reporting this using Adobe's Bug Report form, which is oddly enough, also broken (see attached).

I agree. I'm running an identical system as you and my version of Bridge
also flickers. There is no flickering in Lightroom.

Flickering has persisted through numerous updates.

Adobe, please fix this.

Hi, @jimkahnwI removed your email address from the forum becuase not everyone in these forums is a good person. In general, in a public forum such as this, it's never a good idea to leave any personal information, contact information, or anything that someone can use.

We are now 2 years further since this thread is opened and many many users claimed this bug. Many updates and new versions of Bridge were released since then. And it is a shame for Adobe, that this problem still exists!! Is it so difficult to fix this flickering problem and show photos without flickering like hundreds of other photo apps are able to do? Seriously? This is unbelievable!

it's still happening in September 2024 on the latest Bridge version, as it was happening on all previous versions of Bridge that I used... Just saying...

Unfortunately, I'm running into this issue as well. The flickering is really annoying. Lightroom is not an option for me in my workflow. Any quick fixes available? The cache fix did not sove it for me, nor did the beta version.

I work with Bridge version 14.0.1.137 on a Mac M1 Sonoma 14.6.1. Thank you!

There are no fixes / workarounds and Adobe is not interested to make Bridge usable for photographers. So simply don't use Bridge anymore. I gave it up.

So beautiful.

Not at all nausea inducing when you work.

Dear Adobe, since 3 years the flicker problem is not solved (there are threads about this problem of 2020!!). The last update also did not solve the problem (surprise, surprise....). Christmas is coming and I have a suggestion: Make all Bridge users a Christmas present and fix this bug and make Bridge usable!! IT IS USELESS FOR THE PURPOSE FOR WHICH BRIDGE IS MADE FOR!!!!!!!

Bridge 14.1.1 (up to date), Mac Studio M2 Max 64 GB, Sonoma 14.5, Bridge flickering full-screen preview is very annoying. Tried purging cache and everything else, very strange that this bug is still not solved.

I too am having this issue. For me, I noticed it began after an update earlier this year (or late last year/2022). Once it dawned on me that an update caused it, I rolled back to previous version and that resolved my issue. Unfortunately older versions of Bridge lose some capability with the current version of PS so I ended up caving in and updating both laptop and PC.

This is beyind frustrating. I'm ready to begin culling using Photomechanic again (a program I used YEARS ago, because Lightroom used to have a split second rendering issue that drove me bonkers).

This occurs when I view photos from my hard drive AND externals.

Please Adobe, fix this! It's crippling us!

I made a Bridge update today. And I can not believe that the problem still is NOT resolved!! This is really a bad joke. Wow....you make an update of a software which is unsusable because of a bug and you don't fix this bug despite this thread exists since months with a ton of unsatisfied and frustrated users? This is without words....

I think Adobe doesn't read these comments and/or doesn't give due importance to the bridge! Unfortunately!

So! I found solution which works for me!

I click in Preferences all 3 options:

1. Compact Cache Now

2. Purge All Local Cache Files

3. Purge 100% Previews in Cache

To do this go to Edit > Preferences > Cache Management

It helped for culling 3 sessions (about 4k photos). Then I had to do this once again.

Done and it doesn't work at all. Bridge is a useless tool and Adobe has no interest to fix this basic problem. It is a shame.

The best option I've found for presentations is using Lightroom's Slideshow function.  I hope Adobe will fix Bridge, but at least I can count on Lightroom!

The main purpose of the full screen mode is not to present photos - it is part of the essential workflow for selecting good photos and get rid of bad photos of a session.

It is a shame for Adobe that such an important function ist so buggy and they are not able to fix it. They seem to have really bad developers.

Yes, it's a basic but important function and we've been waiting months for an answer to fix this problem. There is a neglect with Bridge, unfortunately!

Hi, I am wondering: are the nVidia users using the G-Sync feature ? (usually a gaming setting of their HPU drivers)
