Bridge 2022: How to again rename paired RAW and JPGs with same name?

Just upgraded to Bridge 2022. I take RAW & JPG photos as pairs - same photo in 2 formats. I use Bridge daily to batch-rename photos.

Before upgrading to the new Bridge, I could select all paired photos and batch-rename in Bridge, and it would gave the RAW (in my case, .PEF files because I use a Pentax) and JPGs that were paired/identical the same name. (with different file extensions of course)

Since upgrading to Bridge 2022, that same process now renders every paired set of files as sequentially numbered files.

So now, instead of the same paired files being named:
Photo1.jpg and Photo1.pef

Bridge 2022 is batch-renaming those two photos as:
Photo1.jpg and Photo2.pef

Which creates confusion because it makes it harder to tell that the JPG and PEF are actually the exact same image, just rendered as different file formats.

How do I return to the prior method of Bridge giving paired photos the same main file name with different extensions?

Thank you!!

Hi,

The issue is fixed in latest patch release of Bridge 12.0.1, please install the latest build and confirm if that resolves the issue.

Thanks,

PROVISIONAL SOLUTION. After chatting with the only Adobe technician who seems to understand the problem, he found this fix.

1 ° In Creative Cloud, click on the three points to the right of Bridge, and install version 11.

2 ° Once installed, uninstall 12.

And 11 works as before, with the error that in each process the number of sequence was not the next to the last one in the previous process, as it added the number of files in that process (version 12 was going to correct this bug ...) but the current one is worse. A report will be passed to programming to fix it.

I run both versions 11 and 12 side by side. After discovering the annoying change in the personnalized renaming  in Bridge 12 I did my import from SD card using Bridge 11. While I can again apply my peronnal naming scheme  the Raw files are now stored in a subfolder .apddownlod.

Luc, please go vote on the bug report thread, and share how it impedes your workflow!

Folks, do not hesitate to rally others via social media to that Bug report form, so that affected users know where to express their urge to get it fixed.

Please also check if any other thread applies, and do not forget about the features requests, some are really worthwile to make Bridge even more useful.

OOk hier hetzelfde probleem, ieder jaar na de updates ben je een hele tijd bezig om weer alles uit zoeken en goed werkend te krijgen... 😞

Same problem here. At least I know I'm not alone. Worked great until the "upgrade." I really dislike Adobe at times.

I have the same problem.

I've been arguing with Adobe Support for several days.

They don't seem to understand the problem.
And now they want to know how I import photos and settings from Bridge.
But they still haven't done what I told them to do: don't discuss and run the process on one of their computers with Bridge 11 and Bridge 12.
Apparently it is too difficult for your knowledge ...

Does anyone have a fix for this yet?

(Only started since last upgrade ro Bridge 2022)
