Bridge CS4 will not read CR2 files

I just had to re-install my Photoshop CS4 and Bridge programs onto a new computer because my old one crashed.  Now Bridge won't read my CR2 files (my camera is a Canon 5D Mark II).  In Bridge it just shows me a small thumbnail but won't show the actual picture. When I try to open a file to edit, it says "could not complete request because it is not the right kind of document".  I wasn't having any trouble on my old system so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong?

The Drivers needed for ACR to convert CR2 to a Readable Cr2 is built in Canon's Picture Style Editor Installation file. downlad at canonusa for specific camera.

How does that help open canon camera raw cr2 files into adobe camera raw?

worked for me once or twice, LR seems to recognize CR2 files when it wants to, picks and chooses files.
