I just came across a something weird. For some reason Bridge is not reading the XMP sidecards of RAW files. I can see that the XMP files are in the folder but they are not recognized. I remember having spent several hours editing those photos some months ago in the same computer using Bridge and Camera RAW. However, the folder where there the issue appreas, the preview images do not get updated and opening photos in Camera Raw do not show the edits in the side cards. What it is even weirder, the XMP files seem to have no information about the edits that I did.
What went wrong in Bridge? I do not think there is a way to recover the edits though.

Hi @santinmike
Could you please share the following information:
- Bridge Version
- ACR version
- System configuration / OS detail
- The issue started to occur after updating Bridge / anyother software or changing the files location.
Thanks,

I have the same problem after copying files into another folder. I have xmp files in it but bridge doesn't see them.

Could you please share a sample file along with its xmp file to help us debug the issue.

Hope you are well. The original issue you mentioned about Bridge not being able to see xmp files seems different from the one reported later - contents of xmp files are altered. We tried to reproduce them on our end but the edits and contents of xmp were retained properly on copying. We wanted to know a few more things so that it is easier to pinpoint the cause.
Please make sure View->Show Hidden Files is checked.
Thanks

Hi! Where those files treated with a previous version of Camera Raw?
In order to install another version of ACR, you will need this page: https://helpx.adobe.com/camera-raw/kb/camera-raw-plug-in-installer.html
You can Zip or move the folder with the current version to your desktop.

xmp's not recognized in Adobe Bridge.
Just came across this same issue....did you ever resolve it? just finished editing a wedding, copied about 25 RAW files out of the directory. Now all of them do not recognize the xmp files.... freaking out

Nope, I did not solve it. The infomration from the XML files was gone so I could not recover the edits I did to the photos. Very disappointing indeed. I would suggest you to open an XML file with a text editor and see if your edits information is still there. If it is there there might be a way to make bridge recognize the XML files. But if the edits info is not in the XML file... it is gone 😕
