Bridge is Constantly Consuming > 20% CPU but Not Accessing Disc

See screen shots.  Bridge 13.0.3.693 has been averaging over 20% of the CPU for several days.  But while it's slowing down my use of Photoshop, it has ZERO disk activity.  What could Bridge be doing for hours on end that does not require reading from or writing to disc?

Liebe Adobe Programierer was soll das?

From what I have read, this problem is a known issue to Adobe, I have the same problem but I have much higher cpu usage percentages....probably because of me having an older i5 processor.

Try using the beta version of Bridge.  It works perfectly for me and will idle at either 0% or almost 0%.

Interesting.  It worked well in one folder, but in another, it still took Bridge minutes at high CPU to become responsive.  Good to have as an option.  Thanks!

Hi @scottbu ,
We have made improvements in this area i.e. CPU uses on idle.
Please try our latest beta release i.e. 13.0.4 (beta) and let us know if you still face any issue.

Regards,
Bridge Team

Bridge Team,

I'm not sure if this helps yet. I clicked on a folder I've been working in
for the last few days (thumbnail and preview generation should be
finished!). It has 3600 files. Roughly half .dng and half .psd. Bridge
has been consuming over 98% of the CPU for the last 40 minutes and is using
19GB memory. If I change focus to some other app (like Firefox), CPU usage
gradually drops to 0.1%. When I change focus back to Bridge, it
immediately consumes over 98% CPU again.

I'll let you know whether the original problem of Bridge consuming CPU when
it's not doing anything is better. Meanwhile, the high CPU usage is still
a major problem.

Regards,
Scott

Bridge Team,
I'm not sure if this helps yet.  After installing the beta, I opended a folder I've been working in for the last few days (thumbnail and preview generation should be well finished!).  It's on a very fast NVME SSD.  It has 3600 files, roughly half .dng and half .psd.  Bridge has been consuming over 98% of the CPU for the last 40 minutes and is using 19GB memory.  Disk usage runs about 4 MB/s.  If I change focus to some other app (like Firefox), CPU usage gradually drops to ~4% and disk activity stops.  When I change focus back to Bridge, it immediately consumes over 98% CPU again.

I'll let you know whether the original problem of Bridge consuming CPU when it's not doing anything is improved.  Meanwhile, the high CPU usage (which I've reported many times) is still a major problem.

Bridge Team:  Please take this issue seriously.  It's causing my CPU to constantly use ~30% doing nothing.  That in turn causes my CPU fans to constantly be noisy.  And it makes the sliders in PS laggy and jumpy.

The problem still exists in 14.0.0.102.  Bridge team - what is the plan?  This is causing my CPU fans to constantly run at high speed and is killing my productivity on Photoshop.

It appears that when you reply through email, the attachments are stripped.  Here they are.

Also, not sure why you mean by "Monitor display setting" so I've also included a screenshot of the PC Display Settings.
