Bridge keeps adding XMP files, BUT only for images where "Generative Fill" had been used in PS

Thank you for reporting the issue. We apologize for the inconvenience caused.

The additional XMP file you observe is created when changing or applying metadata to any JPG/JPEG file containing Content Credentials. This behavior change was recently introduced due to Content Credentials support in Camera Raw release (version 16.3).

We're actively working to investigate this issue and will keep you posted on updates around this.

I just discovered that I'm having the same issue.... I was able to correct it by opening (directly from adobe bridge) the file in Light Room.  Then exporting it as a new jpg.  This worked for me.  I als tried the same process with Photoshop, but did not have succes.  Good luck!

The problem come from Adobe Camera Raw.
I tested and those XMP files always come when I used AI with the brush in Camera Raw.

Have you tried the alternative route of going to Bridge>Tools>Append (or Replace) Metadata and choosing your template? 

It would be interesting to see if this works "normally" i.e. without xmp generation. I use this route myself frequently and have never encountered xmp files this way.

Another method to consider which I find the most effective: You can add metadata using your template when you first download files from your camera using the Photo Downloader within Bridge before you ever do any editing. I have never encountered an xmp file this way either.
