Bridge not showing transparency for thumbnails

Hello,

I have somewhat of a silly problem. When I opened Bridge today it does not show transparent backgrounds for thumbnails anymore. Instead of transparency it shows a white background.

All my transparency options are checked: 'show transparency' and 'show transparency grid'. I already reinstalled Bridge and reset my preferences. Nothing is working.

Am I still missing something?

Hopefully someone can help me.

Hi, @Kristel_V, forgive me for asking such a basic question, but I'm trying to cover all bases:

Are the images not showing their transparent background in a format that doesn't support transparent backgrounds? That is, are the jpg? PSD? If they are in the correct format (gif, png, tif), has transparency been turned on for them in Photoshop?

Sorry for asking such a basic question, but…

No problem at all. For now it seems to apply to PSD files, but not all PSD files as you can see below. Some display transparency just fine and others give a white background.

Oh, PSDs do not have transparency, at least not any that can be used. If you want images that have transparency that can be used (i.e., in Word, InDesign, web, etc.) you have to use TIF, PNG, or GIF.

If you convert those images in your example above into TIF images, you'll be fine.

It seems that it only applies to files already present in the folder. I copied a new file to the folder and Bridge does show transparency for the new file.
