Hi there,

I checked previous posts but didn't work (APDpreferences.xml)

The downloader does NOT save any settings and has to be reset every time I open it.

(settings / default location, etc, etc)

Please help

Thanks

This issue has been fixed in the last Bridge update. However a new, different problem has been introduced.

I fixed the problem!

(as suggested in a different post that I encountered later)

Go to > Program Files > Adobe > Adobe Bridge (your version) > folder Photodownloader > find photodownloader.exe > right click and open as administrator.

Photodownloader will open > make your changes / settings > close Bridge

Open Bridge and open photodownloader > your settings should be there as set before

Cheers

Some things to know:
YES this fix works. However, if you're me and you have placed a shortcut to Adobe Photo Downloader on your taskbar or desktop - which eliminates the need for opening Bridge first, and then opening the downloader - you will have to delete the desktop/taskbar icon first, as it will continue to open in Standard dialogue and not retain your preferred settings.

Next, follow the steps above - which I verified DO work if the downloader opens via bridge.

NEXT, navigate again to the adobephotodownloader.exe file and drag that onto your desktop or your taskbar. NOW the direct access to the downloader will work and will retain settings.
