Heic preview in Bridge

Hi.

Previews of HIEC files are blurry in Bridge.

Windows 10 machine, I have the Heif & Hevc extensions from the MS store installed.

The files open perfectly in photoshop and the windows photo viewer.

I have purged the cache several times.

Other types of files are clear in preview.

I've tried for hours to find a solution. I have tried on two separate windows 10 computers and get the same problem.

Any suggestions?

We are happy to announce the release of new Adobe Bridge 2025 Beta build(Version 15.0.0.328). This release has support for .HEIC and .HEIF image file format with some other fixes.

A pitty as I've moved on to something elese that Bridge but good to see it's fixed for Windows platform.

I also cannot get HEIC files to preview in Bridge.

It appears that Adobe is not fully supporting HEIC images in Bridge on Windows. I have version 13.0.4.755 and Bridge uses a very low res preview even for 100% views. Bridge is useless for evaluationg HEIC images. Also, Bridge does not allow opening HEIC images in Camera Raw (15.5.1.1597). The File>Open in Camera Raw menu option is grayed out and not available for HEIC images.

Has Adobe acknowledged an issue with HEIC images using Bridge on Windows?

Reason why, for years now, I only shoot raw .dng with Lightroom camera on my iPhone. I loose space but I gain SO MUCH quality and flexibility 😉

Same issue here on Mac Ventura. The crazy thing is that some of the HEIC images appear crisp while others remain blurry (as thumbnail and full screen preview). Clearing cache does nothing.

HEIC in MS Photo are fullres but lowres/preview in Bridge.

@krnirmalkr any update on this very annoying issue with Bridge I have ver 14.3 on Windows 10 and the official HEIF and HEIV plugins.. it just doesn't load the full HEIC files, on thumbnail resolution.

Exactly the same problem here, latest bridge and Heif & Hevc extension installed on Windows 11

In preference, Monitor size preview and cache purge all tested.

hdr pictures show up in windows photo viewer and photoshop properll.

Any update on that front?

The difference here is that it seems HEIC is not fully supported in Bridge for windows whereas in the Mac version it is. The screenshot shows the setting differences. I have the same issue with the Windows version with the MS extensions installed. the HEIC file is only loaded at the thumbnail resolution. If you export that image you only get a tiny jpeg at 100%.

Just in case anyone cannot visualize the issue here are 2 screenshots of 2 pictures taken in HEIC and JPEG with the Preview screen Loupe. Come on Adobe, please sort this out for us windows users.
