Move to Bin

I can't believe how much small things like this drive me crazy. Maybe it says more about me, but I'm so bothered when Adobe changes things for no reason. No reason. In American English, you put things in a bin until you have time to sort through them later. Which is exactly how that word is used in Premiere. In the Bridge context, the word should be TRASH. Please change it back, Adobe.

I saw that too, and I almost lost files because a "bin" in Adobe Premiere is a folder. I thought I was moving the files to a new folder without realize it was specifically the Trash folder. 

The phrase "Move to Trash" has meant something very specific in macOS for a very long time. Also the word "bin" refers to something very different in Premier. The fact that "move to bin" was ever used by a programmer working on the new code for Bridge is very concerning. It tells me that the team working on Bridge isn't very familiar with macOS, and that there isn't anyone overseeing the development of the Creative Cloud suite of apps as a whole. I do understand that Apple introduced a translation of 'trash' to 'bin' in the UK language option of macOS Catalina. I also appears that the entire team working on Bridge is in India, which shouldn't be a problem in it self because if there are any senior programmers on their team familiar with macOS; they should understand that "Move to Trash" has always meant something very specific, and getting it right is very important when it come to DAM software.
I get the feeling that during senior executive presentation meetings at Adobe headquarters, they have to add a description in the slide deck for what Bridge actually is.

Yeah, they renamed it to "Bin" even though in American culture, people look at you funny when you say that versus "Trash".

Perhaps the programmer responsible for the change is from UK. Here we have bins, wastebins, dustbins, recycling bins, rubbish bins, litter bins, green bins, dog waste bins and probably others I have failed to recall too. We don't have trash though!!

This is confusing because "Bin" means something completely different in Premiere Pro. When I first saw it I thought ir was some virtual folder. It's amazing how these unecessary and unexplained changes waste so much of our time.

I sure hope so, I was wondering why, after all this time you would change a word from trash to bin without any explanation and it also used to have how many files/images you were about to delete. That is gone as well. Fingers crossed, I am not deleting more than I thought I was!!! Sometimes changes are so aggravating and totally unnecessary!

I see the same word: bin. Thank you English language programmers. While you did have the language first, it used to be termed differently in versions 2022 and earlier. Is this an effort to use more human-sensitive language?

I would say so. I get "Move to recycle bin" when I delete a file.
