Unable to batch process files in Bridge, error message "Install the latest version of Photoshop to"

I have been using the subscription for several years and am fastidious about upgrading when I receive notifications. Since upgrading to the latest version of Bridge (11.1.4.213), I am unable to batch process any files in Photoshop because of the error message "Install latest version of Photoshop to continue..." I have confirmed that I am using the latest version of Photoshop (23.5.1), and have re-installed the latest version, to no avail. I am using a late-2013 27"inch iMac, running OS Catalina (10.15.7). Please help!

Unfortunately, Adobe has implemented this support via scripts that require "matched" versions of Bridge and Photoshop.

Bridge 11.x = Bridge 2021, Photoshop 22.x = Photoshop 2021

Bridge 12.x = Bridge 2022, Photoshop 23.x = Photoshop 2022

Bridge 13.x = Bridge 2023, Photoshop 24.x = Photoshop 2023

There are some ways to partially work around this, with unsupported hacks and/or scripting, but to get full support you have to match versions.

Complicating things for the OP who is using Catalina, Adobe isn't supporting the latest 2023 CC releases fully on Catalina.

Let me add to what Lumigraphics said: you need to install Photoshop AFTER you've installed Bridge. The reason for this is that the scripts you see under the Tools menu are not installed during the Bridge installation but during the other applications' installation. It would be bad form if these scripts were installed but failed to work because the wrong version of Photoshop was installed (see Lumigraphics comments) or for applications that you do not have installed (see Illustrator, Adobe).

What happens is that during installation, the various applications that could install scripts into Bridge look for Bridge. If Bridge is not there, or the wrong version of Bridge is installed, they will not install the scripts. So, be sure to install Bridge first and then the matching version of Photoshop (or other applications).

I have been unable to install Bridge 13.0.2 on my Win 10 system.Saw your post and uninstalled Bridge and Photoshop and then installed Bridge - but not Photoshop.

Bridge opened with the same blank screen. No error msg.

Installed Photoshop (looks OK) and then opened Bridge again - same screen

What now?

I am having a similar issue with Photoshop v24.1.1. Trying to open two files from Bridge v12.0.4 to merge to HDR. I get the dreaded "Install latest version of Photoshop". Do I need to uninstall / reinstall  (or downgrade) Photoshop and Bridge?

Had this issue also maintaining Photoshop 23 and upgraded Bridge to 24, they are no longer in sync, so this is causing the problem, on Macmini M1 went to Force Quit and made sure no versions of Bridge or PS were open, then opened Creative Cloud, located my APPS and to the right of Bridge there are three dots, click on those and go to Other Versions, there I selected Bridge 13.4 installed that and Bridge is now compatible with PS 24, I will not upgrade PS to 25 until I can delete Acrobat Pro when the subscription times out, now that Adobe have doubled the price of the Photo Subscription to include ver 25.
