Photoshop beta 26.9 seems to be missing the "Search / Filter by name" field on the home screen and files tab. Any word on when we might see this added back? It was really nice to be able to search for my cloud PS files by name in the home screen UI, now I have to scroll through them all with no option to search by name.
Hi everyone, wanted to update the thread that the funcationlity is back in Ps Beta: Adobe Photoshop Version: 26.11.0 20250827.m.3196 64d840b arm64 (beta, PublicBeta) and will show here under Your files...
Hi @CShubert I have attached two screenshots below: one of "normal" (non beta) Photoshop and one of the new 26.9 Beta Update UI. The red box indicates where there used to be a search by word feature and has since disappeared in the new update. Would really love to have that search functionality back!
I have this same issue too. I've got a lot of cloud files and not being able to search makes it very difficult to find what I need. This was a core function for me.
Same problem here. I wish someone had an answer on how to fix this. I can only sort the files, but there's no search bar for files anymore, only on the very top to search Adobe Stock. I did an update, and that didn't help.
Thank you all for the feedback—and apologies for the disruption this change has caused.
To clarify, the feature that was removed was a keyword filter limited to the current view, not a full search across your cloud files. It only filtered the items already shown, rather than performing a true, cloud-wide search.
We removed it for a few reasons: 1. Low usage – Data suggested it wasn’t widely used. 2. Limited functionality – It was a basic filter, not a comprehensive search. 3. Long-term direction – Photoshop already has a dedicated search UI, and our goal is for that to eventually support full search across all cloud assets.
That said, based on your feedback, we’re actively evaluating adding the keyword filter back. We know how important fast, reliable access to your files is—especially for those of you working heavily in the cloud.
Appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback, which helps shape the product.
P.S. If you’re a frequent cloud user, I’d love to hear any additional thoughts you have on the Files, Shared with You, Firefly History, or Deleted views. Feel free to DM me.
Hey @wsoh, Appreciate the response. To your point about the keyword filter only searching the current view and not a full cloud search - I want to bring to your attention that the keyword filter is also missing in the full PS beta cloud search window as well. Within the PS Beta homescreen, if I click "open" on the left tool bar and then inside my file explorer (PC) click "Open cloud documents" to reach the PS beta cloud explorer - the keyword filter is gone from this UI as well since the most recent update. I understand if you at Adobe want to remove the keyword filter from the PS Beta Home UI but please at least add it back to the cloud explorer UI within PS Beta. I have maybe close to a thousand PS cloud files and I don't want to use another application (Creative Cloud App) to open my PS files, I should be able to find and open them quickly through PS beta cloud search UI just like you can do with PS normal. I have attached screenshots of PS Beta and normal version showing the difference within the cloud search UI.
@Ian24302489izsj@jefftaylorMAIN@defaultp16fuxlvr2os on a related note, would the option to favorite cloud files and have a way to view all your favorites only, be useful in your workflow? I'd be interested to hear how you typically manage or revisit your in-progress files.
Yea that would be pretty cool. I like how the cloud files are normally displayed as last edited so that I can quickly open recent projects that I have been working on. Especially if you are working with templates that would be ideal to "pin" them to the top of your files.
I think that's a good idea for files I'm repeatedly going back to. I just saw the new Projects feature, so that might be one way of achieving this.
On a somewhat unrelated note, since users can't create custom templates that are accessible via the New Document window, I've created a workaround of saving my "template" file to libraries and double clicking it to open a new document with those settings. It works, but it's clunky and not a true template file.

I had the same problem, it's super frustrating when you have hundreds of files on cloud since you work in a team and not be able to find a single file you are searching for. My team complained about this as well. Please bring back the feature ASAP
